Now recharged after returning from Australia, it’s time for me to wish you all a belated Happy New Year!

My trip down under was enjoyable as it allowed me to catch up with family and friends and do some press for my new book “Batting for Berlin”. I did a bunch of interviews with various radio channels from Sydney and around Australia, such as the ABC, 2GB and 4BC (Brisbane).

I also landed in my local newspaper, the Mosman Daily. That was quite an honour. After all these years living in Germany, it’s been a while since I appeared in there!!

Of all the interviews I did for “Batting for Berlin”, the most enjoyable one was with my colleague Emma Wallis here at DW in Germany though. Not only did it give me a feeling of what it was like to be on the other side of the microphone, it was nice to discuss some issues that often don’t get looked at in mainstream cricket reporting.
